Judging Criteria
-
Technology
How technically impressive was the hack? Was thought put into the technologies — libraries, tools, etc. — used to build the project? -
Quality
Is the project a good piece of software? Is the code relatively efficient and organized in a way that makes it easy for others to understand? -
Purpose
Does the project try to solve a problem? Tackling a problem with a realistic solution is what gives meaning to a project. Submissions should clearly articulate the problem and demonstrate how their solution can create a beneficial impact. -
Growth
Did your team learn while making the project? ZotHacks is about learning something new and applying that knowledge to a practical project. Projects scoring high in Growth should be bold in their experimentation and usage of new tools.
